Nawal Kishore, hailing from Ghaziabad, secured his MFA in painting from College of Arts, Lucknow University. The meritorious painter has been awarded a junior fellowship by the Culture Department, India (2016-18), “Garhi Research Grant” from Lalit Kala Academy along with many more merit scholarships. His accolades extend beyond the academic field from All India award by State Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow and AIFCAS, New Delhi to M.F. Hussain award and City Award by Prafulla Dhanukar Arts Trust, Mumbai. He has been honoured by General V.K. Singh, Minister of India with “Bhanu Pratap Shukla Smriti Samman”. He has conducted and participated in 40 plus group and solo exhibitions and camps, all over the world attracting a huge mass through his art narratives. His works have been published in many magazines.
The artworks of Nawal has never missed the eyes of art admirers and stays in the shelves of many notable collectors like Mr Amit Shah (President of BJP), Ms Jayaprada (M.P & Actress) to highlight a few. His desire to promote art and give back to society can be seen through his teaching experience at AMITY university. Nawal’s rare contemporary emotional impressions on the canvas draw inspiration from the personal or social changes that occur as a consequence of the happenings in reality.
